Gel and James

We shared a most wonderful day filled with joy, laughter, faith and family. The day started with David dropping by and capturing the groomsmen getting ready while I headed over to Gel and her family for a little bridal prep. I was immediately taken with the sense of peace and calm. Gel was full of nervous energy, but nobody seemed stressed or panicked. The wonderful Sinead from House of Makeup was on hand to get gel ready for the day. After that I headed to the venue, The Auckland Botanic Gardens. This is a somewhat surprising venue because it’s a little unexpected, but they have a very good setup for the ceremony and the cafe Miko can be easily converted into a really striking venue for a reception.

It’s obvious to everyone that Gel and James are head over heels in love and totally smitten with each other. Their ceremony was simply beautiful and really touched me. All the more special is that they not only had their first date at the Botanic Gardens, but it is where James proposed. That attention to detail was on show throughout the entire day.

After the ceremony, we did a shoot with the bridal party and Gel had supplied plenty of baking and drinks to keep the energy levels up. Something that is really worthwhile especially on a hot summer day!

Next was the ceremony, David left at this point, and I stayed up until after the first dance and then left the happy couple to enjoy time with family and friends. I have to say, I really enjoyed this day it was lovely from start to finish. We are so lucky to do what we do.
