Frequently Asked Questions

It’s only natural to have questions when it comes to one of the biggest days of your life. Here are some common questions please just contact us if you have more. There really is no such thing as a silly question.

What are the payments terms?

The terms will be shown on your quote, we only ask for 10% to confirm your booking. The balance is paid later.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we use the Stripe payment gateway for super secure online card payment. You can still pay view internet banking if you want to.

How does this all work?

We understand that trusting us with your special day is a big deal. That’s why we personally meet with every couple before taking a deposit. We want to be certain that we are all going to get on well. If we are not on the same page, you can’t relax and we only want the very best for your memories. We are getting married next year; will the price change?

That is a large portion of our clients so do not fret, it’s very normal. Whilst we may need to change our prices over time, the price we agree when you book is the price you will pay.

How can I check my booking?

Relax, everything is saved to your client portal which is linked in emails we send. Click the link and you can see the shoot location, your details, your quote, booking agreement, your contract, view your questionnaire and open the link to your image gallery.

I’ve looked at your standard packages and want something different, is that possible?

Absolutely, we regularly quote special packages. no two weddings are ever the same.

How long will you be there?

We like keep things simple. We will shoot everything from bridal prep to the party. You don’t need to worry about time limits,

How many photos will I get?

We shoot everything and typically delivery 100s of images. We can’t say how many that will be but every image worth editing is supplied and for a typical wedding that will be 400+ images. Every image is edited individually by us and NOT bulk edited by AI. Once we are happy, we then convert them all to black and white and tweak them to suit. Whilst all you really need is maybe 10 images you love, you will get many more images, and it will cover the whole time we are there.

When will I get my images?

We say to allow up to 4 weeks but usually you’ll get them within a couple of weeks. Some summer months are super busy, and it can be hard to be so fast. We want to take the time they deserve and really hone them. We don’t use AI when editing your images, every image is tweaked by hand and that takes time.

How do I access my images?

Your images will be loaded onto an online gallery that will be linked to your own private client portal. You’ll see the link in emails we send you. From there you can choose to mark favourites, download individual images or download a zip of them all. Don’t worry if you are not very tech savvy, it’s all very simple to use and we will send you a flash drive with the images anyway.

How long will the images stay online?

We will ensure they are online for you to download for a minimum of 6 months from delivery but in reality, they stay they for years.

I’m not great at posing and I’m not comfortable having my picture taken, can you help?

We get it, you’ve had a bad experience in the past ;) we all have. Don’t worry, we do a practice run usually about a month before your wedding and hopefully at the venue. We will share a YouTube video with some posing ideas, and we will practice these with you as something to fall back on. Preparation really is the key to success with this stuff. But do not worry, we won’t share the weird pics where you blink at the wrong time etc.

What is your shooting style?

There are some parts of a wedding that are slightly prescriptive like any group shots and to some extent the ceremony. If you choose to have a couple shoot (typically but not always while guests move onto the reception) then these will be a mixture of posed images and some very casual in between moments. Check out our wedding galleries for a taste. For the reception we move into stealth mode and capture things as they unfold. We let the moments unfold and try to capture them in a way that is authentic to the mood of the wedding.

Can we have a second photographer?

Yes, you certainly can, we are happy to quote for that

Do you have public liability insurance

Yes, we are a limited company with full public liability insurance. Most venues will want this.

What does NZIPP mean?

We are member of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers. We adhere to their code of conduct and undertake to always act in good faith and with the best interests of the client.
